My name is Sima Rahimi, I am a visual artists and designer with a passion for art, based in Toronto, Ontario., and have been living in Canada since 2001, where I continue to develop my artistic practice. My work focuses on hands-on creative expression blending storytelling with visual design.
Since childhood, I have been drawn to imagery-often finding inspiration in shapes of cloud. This early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for painting. Overtime, my interests have expanded to include both in art and design.
Art was my favourite subject at school, which led me to pursue formal training at Behzad Art School in Tehran at the age of fourteen . After three years, I earned a diploma in Fundamental Art. My studies included drawing, decorative art, miniature painting, and traditional techniques, working across a variety of mediums. The curriculum was complemented by courses in anatomy, folklore literature, art history geometry , and perspective.
I later earned a degree in construction and Design from the Polytechnic University in Tehran, specializing in interior architecture. My studies also included calligraphy, batik fabric printing, and silk screen techniques.
I gained valuable experience reviewing children's books with the international Board on Book for Young People (IBBY), where I later volunteered for seven years to review of Illustrated PubLished Children's Book, also completed teaching workshop focused on developing creative techniques for working with children.
My professional journey began with teaching painting to children aged five to eleven. I have since continued teaching private art classes for both children and adults both in Iran and Canada.
In Canada, I also continued to refine my artistic skills at Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University in 2003 in watercolor painting. I also finished the two year Interior Design diploma at Seneca College Toronto, ontario in 2005. As well, I have participated in various art groups and participating in annual Art Show
where my art works have been shown.
In 2006, I developed the concept of Art and Design possibilities. My current work includes painting postcards , drawing, and exploring various mediums. I am currently accepting commissions and offering art classes and workshops using divers material.
